Adam Rowley

Dip. Psych. Couns.

I offer psychotherapy that is existential in orientation and grounded in relational practice, with a particular attentiveness to the body, to presence, and to what passes between us in the room. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirmative and culturally inclusive, with a particular sensitivity towards questions of identity, gender, sexuality, race, and culture. I am also a qualified mindfulness teacher.

What I can help with

LGBTQIA+ affirmative practice · Questions of identity and self-understanding · Gender and sexuality · Race and culture · Anxiety, depression and low mood · ADHD · Burnout and difficulties at work · Relational struggles · Grief, loss and bereavement · Trauma · Feeling stuck, uncertain, or at a crossroads · Despair and suicidal thoughts · Mindfulness and meditation

A little about how I work

I work with people at significant points in their lives: those who are struggling, who want to understand themselves more fully, and who are looking for greater ease and meaning.

My work is existential in orientation and grounded in relational practice, with a particular attentiveness to the body, to presence, and to what passes between us in the room.

Gestalt works with the whole person: with feeling, thought, body and relationship. Real change, in my experience, comes not from insight alone but from something that shifts in the lived experience of the work.

My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirmative and culturally inclusive, with a particular sensitivity towards questions of identity, gender, sexuality, race and culture.

I am also a qualified mindfulness practitioner and a Listed Teacher with the British Association of Mindfulness-based Approaches, and I draw on that practice to deepen and inform the therapy where it is relevant.

I hold a Clinical Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapeutic Counselling, awarded by the Metanoia Institute in London. I am a member of the UK Association for Gestalt Practice and of the International Association for the Advancement of Gestalt Therapy.
